Jun. 17th, 2002 09:38 amI'm all graduated and shit.
The ceremony was surreal...it was so not a big deal, people were joking around, one guy had his name read as "Bartholomew Simpson," tortillas were a-flying,
The more momentous occasion was the previous night. Darryl, Richie, Ben, and Lauren came up, and Toni and Sarah came over, and we drank 31 beers and most of a bottle of Smirnoff. Ben and I played our special song, and life was good. See, this is the type of night I live for: people I love congregating and enjoying each other's company.
Yesterday...my grandma was in town, my family was up, my aunt and uncle were there, and Ben and Lauren went home early because Ben had heat stroke. After the ceremony, my family and I stopped for drinks at Burger King and then me, my family, my grandma, and Brian, Darryl, Richie, and Toni went to the Beachside for a lovely dinner at which I was exhausted. The heat, the no food, and the like got to me. After dinner, though, I was good.
Then I went to Sarah's and met her family. They're cool; I like her mom and brother a lot. They're from Fontucky--er, Fontana--well, not really, but that's where they're living at the moment. So we have the boredom of the Inland Empire/San Gabriel Valley to bond over, I suppose.
All in all...a most satisfying two days. I shall post more later, if I can organize the details satisfactorily.
