Apr. 22nd, 2002 02:42 amI just escaped death, dismemberment, and a really stiff fine.
How, you ask?
I drove from Diamond Bar to Isla Vista--a distance of around 140 miles--in just under an hour and a half, and that's including a pee break in Thousand Oaks. I did not get in a wreck, nor did I get busted by the cops. I did not, in fact, even see one cruiser the whole way up.
I really shouldn't drive so fast.
On the plus side, I went to Disneyland today. It was my family, my Uncle David's family (the Jewish fundamentalists), and my dad's mom, who was in town taking a breather from full-time Grampa care. Like half the cool rides (insofar as Disneyland HAS cool rides) were closed, but we still had the Haunted Mansion (I love my sister!), the Matterhorn, and Indiana Jones. I would've been bummed about the absence of Space Moutain from the day's activities, but I have gone there about once every year or two for my whole life, and I am consequently well-acquainted with Space Mountain. Anyhow...I was kinda tired, cranky, bored, restless, fidgety, etc. all day today. This often happens to me on family outings. I wonder why. I did succeed in grossing my mom out by showing her how I roll my eyes all the way back in my head.
I saw Lauren and Ben a couple times, too. The stress packed into that house seems to have leaked out a little, for which I am grateful on their behalf...they have been so wound up for the past forever, and it's good to see them get a bit of relief. We watched Zoolander on Saturday night. I laughed very heartily
I also failed to get a smog check (fucking gas stations closing early), succeeded in washing my car (but I need to wax it and do the windows again), and determined that Cinnamon Mocha Cappucino from AM/PM is actually decent, especially for $1.39 for a huge cup (caffeine for the superfast drive).
Ok, I am tired. I shall sleep now. Night night. ::crash::ASL:Dkvanr/;bv
