come on over, we'll do the twist
Feb. 20th, 2002 02:43 amThe past five days have been one big happy blur.
Friday was my birthday. I woke at noon, went to Deja for lunch, went to Gio's for dinner, and sat around in the interim. Then Terry, Toni, and Kevin came over and we shot the shit, and then Scott showed up. Scott and I parted from the other three and went downtown. Nothing big, Scott spent tons of money on booze--almost all for me--and we danced to shitty pop techno for like three hours. I hung out with some IV residents, and Scott met this girl and totally hit it off with her. She ended up spending the night at my place with him. I went to Simone's, and all was well.
Saturday, I awoke to find that Anna was actually a pretty cool girl. She's from Brazil and goes to SBCC. We were hanging out at my place, then she had to leave and Scott and I went to Terry and Kevin's barbecue. I've never seen Terry that drunk before. It seems I say that every time I see him, but it's true...he was falling over repeatedly, offering beer to passersby, screaming at the top of his lungs...not a pretty sight. his mom and her fiance were there as well, and his mom was so embarrassed. but she was used to it. so then scott and I got groceries, cooked dinner, and played dominoes. I'd never played before, but I kicked his ass. It was about 250-150. and then anna came over again and we went to a party in the apt of some girls we met at the bbq. it was lame. they left eraly, and I stayed with Ryan, but he was trying to get with a girl and I was bored, so I went back to Simone's and then home.
Sunday! I awoke, finished my Writing for ES project, got lunch, got dinner, saw Scott and Anna off, and went to pick up Kate with Toni and Eric. We picked up John on the way. We were all so happy to see each other...her for us, us for her. She looks really great, but pale as hell with darker hair. So we went to drop off John, who had school, then straight to Albertson's and then to Terry's, where we all proceeded to polish off about twenty-five beers between us.
Then yesterday, I woke late and walked at Depressions beach. I expected Terry, Eric, Kate, et al. to be there, bt they weren't. So I went back to Terry's, and there they were, so Eric, Kate and I went to the beach and chatted for like an hour. Then after we parted, I showered and went to Toni's to catch the tail end of her and Kate's dinner. I ended up giving Kate an hour-long foot massage and just chatting with them forever. Then where'd I go? Yep. Simone and I talked for like hours. It was really nice; I'm really glad to have met and befriended her. This time, also, she'd baked a cake for me and she, Dan, Colin and I partook. Yummy. It has a bat on it, and pictures shall be forthcoming :)
Today, I had early work, after which I went home, ate, and went to Terry's to meet Kate up. We tossed a Frisbee around and had a couple beers at the beach. I had to take pictures of Kate in the ocean. Then I had class, which I largely ignored. Senioritis has set in something awful. After that, I went to Gio's for dinner with kate and Ryan, got my mail (in which was my Psychocandy CD! Thank you Nelson!) and then rented Slapshot at Emerald on the way back to Terry's. Still haven't seen it yet, though, because we started finishing all the leftover beer from Sunday and then went to happy hour at Woodstock's. We played Think While You Drink. 'Twas fun. Terry met the most hardcore Jimmy Buffett fans I've ever seen--one had a parrot tattooed on his hip--and then took off, leaving Kate, Eric, and me. We talked for a long time, then walked to Java so Kate could buy smokes. I went over to Simone's again, talked for like forty five minutes with her and the ever-present Tyler, and then came home, where I sit writing this.
I have had a hell of a weekend, and since Kate's still in town, it's still happening. We're going to hit the bars on Thursday, which is college night. I'm not gonna get plowed, but I may be alone in that. In any case, it oughtta be fun.
So yeah. Such is my life lately. Envy me. I'm living the dream.
