Oct. 17th, 2001 02:46 pmso yeah.
Last weekend was really nice, if you don't count the travel time. I spent nearly eight hours on the plane to Chicago--good thing we paid extra for the nonstop flight, no?--because O'Hare was shut down due to rain. Our plane got diverted to Des Moines after having been in a holding pattern and nearly running out of fuel. We missed the rehearsal and dinner. But the next day, I woke up late and went down to the place. It was neat watching everything come together--Colin building the huppah, all of the other stuff--and then we went home, got dressed and went back for the ceremony.
It was really beautiful. My aunt made the actual canopy part of the huppah, my cousin bound the guestbook by hand, Sonya and Tom were super-blissful, and everyone was happy. It ended pretty early, though, given that it was Sunday night. Right now they're in, or on their way to, Canterbury, England. Would that not kick ass for a honeymoon?
The trip home was uneventful, except that it was really early. And now I'm in IV, doing the school thing again. Wheeee.
I'm at work right now. Hopefully by the end of the day I will have made it over to the Nexus and FINally look over my review with my editor.
I just had a huge lunch, involving a Boca Burger patty melt, a bagel, and a milkshake. Last night Toni and I made some wonderful burritos, thanks to Lawry's seasoning powder packets and Recipe Crumbles fake beef. I must be storing up for hibernation or something. But at least I'm finally learning how to cook things that don't taste like ass, even if they do involve frozen food. My goal is to be able to make cool stuff completely from scratch.
Anyway. I am gonna get Travis tickets for next Tuesday--they are still available, and I wanna see Frannie and the boys again SO badly, especially since the last time their set got cut off during The Blue Flashing Light and they did not do ANYTHING from Good Feeling. I'm gonna go with Toni, Sal, hopefully Kris, and my dad. How cool is that?
ok. enough slacking. I think I'm gonna go back to my place to see if I left my toaster oven on.
