Jan. 3rd, 2005 02:25 amMy mom's home from the hospital, and is doing great; seriously, the only thing that indicates that she had an operation three days ago is that she's walking slowly. She's my same old spunky mom. That is immensely reassuring.
in other news: new Year's Eve went well, with an intimate gathering at the home of Andrea's friends, Catherine and James Stein. We slept on a slowly deflating aerobed, and I wasn't terribly sick the next morning (Andrea says she was, though). no news on the car hunt, yet. (mine's dying a slow and dignified death, I think. it wants to retire.) cleaned my boyhood room, although there's still a good bit of cleaning left to do. hung out with my sister. slept through a good bit of yesterday. went to bed at 8:30 last night, and slept till like noon (on and off, anyhow).
um, yeah. oh yes: I believe that this year, I shall further my traveling exploits. it's hawaii in the spring, and if I can swing it, london in the fall. (with mandatory chunnel trip to paris -- i loved that place and did not get enough.)
quick informal poll: has anyone ever had serious thoughts of living in another country? where? how close did you com might you still act on them in the future? what might hold you back? what would you have to give up? leave me comments.
